| The history of bingo at online casinos
Bingo history goes back to a time well before online casinos. It makes for a fascinating tale indeed. Back then, in the pre- online casinos days, a dealer would choose numbered discs from a cigar box with players marking their cards with beans. Bingo can be tracked back to the 1530's in Italy. It started as a lottery game version which is still played every Saturday by Italians. France was introduced to the game by the end of the 18th century where it was played by the elite gentlemen society.
The Germans joined in on the game a century later, only there it was adjusted for kids, in order to help school children with spelling, and improve their math. Only in the late 1920's did the Bingo game reach North America where it was called "Beano". Funnily enough, the catchy name of Bingo, by which we all know the game at online casinos and elsewhere, only came about shortly after that, when Lowe, a New York toys salesman happened to pass by a man playing the game yelling "Bingo" by mistake rather than "Beano."
Lowe saw some great promise in the game and hired a Math professor to help him increase the amount of combinations in Bingo cards. Sure enough over 6,000 variations of Bingo cards entered the market. Lowe was then approached by a Pennsylvanian Catholic priest that hoped to use the game as a way to collect money for the church. The plan went beautifully well with online casinos Bingo versions only increasing further the games' popularity, especially amongst younger audiences.
