| Online Casinos Haven Receives Surprising Backing
When US President George Bush signed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act and thus basically wiped out billions of dollars in online casinos revenue, little Antigua felt the punch stronger than most. The WTO didn't need much convincing in order to see through the new anti online casinos law and deemed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act as an unfair barrier to international trade, ordering the USA to be compliant to the recommendations of the DSB. The online casinos industry is still waiting for promised compliance though. As for now, the USA have chosen to remain firm with their chosen position and keep up the much protested against online casino and gambling ban.
Now, surprisingly, teeny Island state Antigua's claim against the online casinos ban has gained some extra muscle from global economist heavyweights like China, Japan, and some members of the European Union. The countries have decided to join Antigua's fight against trade barriers that the US is erecting in order to keep foreign companies out of the biggest market for online casinos and gambling worldwide. Whether it's just politics or a genuine desire to open up the US market further to trade remains to be seen, but clear is that the online casinos industry can use all the friends it can get.
